There’s no need for a navigator to follow these experimenters in sound and melody. They will guide down their musical paths, even if some people lose their bearings. The musicians take all the liberties that a quartet without a harmonic instrument can offer.

Through their compositions, Jean-Paul Estiévenart, Cédric Favresse, Alain Deval and Lieven Van Pee create a musical world that is full of originality. Three of them first played together as The Uppers in 2006. Their close musical affinity led to them creating a new group, Collapse. Estiévenart joined them that year, bringing a musical and artistic touch that was key to the energy of the band.

The quartet won the Brussels Jazz Marathon in 2007, before touring in the Jazz Tour organized by Les Lundis d’Hortense. Estiévenart also picked up the “Django D’or Young Talent” award in 2006. The IGLOO New Talents series initiated for the 30 years the label continues its adventures with Collapse: Four inventive and talented musicians, original compositions, "old school" sound in line with modern arrangements.
