Couleurs jazz 1

Since the early days, IGLOO has devoted itself to the living musics that make upjazz. The label has now made more than 120 recordings. "Couleurs Jazz" is a compilation of 18 groups or performers, complete with detailed biographical information, that comes in a superb jacket.

The double album provides a musical map of the artists whose paths have crossed that of Igloo and jazz in Belgium. "Crystal Bells", the record that brings together Philip Catherine, Chet Baker and Jean-Louis Rassinfosse opens with the title track. The Act Big Band which, in 1987, boasted sax players John Ruocco and Joe Lovano follows. Sixteen other titles present a panorama of jazz in Belgium with young performers such as Nathalie Loriers, Eric Legnini, Ivan Paduart and Diederik Wissels. Noted players such as Freddie Deronde, Steve Houben, Serge Lazarevitch, Charles Loos, L'Ame des Poetes, Jacques Pelzer and Paolo Radoni complete the picture. A double CD to broaden the appeal of the "blue note".
