Nympheas

Sparkling compositions worked-out-imagined as real songs. A band which holds together, where the whole far exceeds the sum of its excellent parts. "Nymphéas" is the revelation of 1991.

Although Loriers started late in classical studies (at the Conservatory of Huy, then Li"ge ), she then skipped through the different stages when she discovered a passion for jazz. For this recording the choice of musicians is a clear demonstration of her maturity. She is accompanied by Mimi Verderamme, surprising inthis context of European Jazz, Kurt Van Herck, magnificent in his restrain and lyricism and Philippe Aerts quite simply superb - with a feel for the organisation sounds which borders on the magic . Loriers leads her accomplices towards a subtle alchemy which glows with restful energy and the joy of playing .
