Whether it be themes written by Garrett List for poems by American writers or compositions of Fabrizio Cassol with lyrics written by Antoine Prawerman, this is music of subtle complexity- elaborately written, deftly directed. The originality of the orchestration makes comparisons useless. Marianne Pousseur and Lucy Grauman’s voices are perfectly integrated; the ease with which they sing is impressive. The perfection and clarity of this music has few equals. A grandiose repertoire for a Grande Formation whose music is amongst the most original in contemporary jazz.
