Lieven Venken, graduate of the Lemmens Institute. studied with Dré Pallemaerts and, in New-York, with Billy Hart. Very active in the Belgian jazz scene, he recorded with, among others, Diederik Wissels and Bart Defoort, Jonathan Morritz, Lea Gillmore. He also played with Mark Turner and Kris Defoort, Steve Houben and toured in N.Y. and L.A. with Brian Lynch, Pete McCann, and Jonathan Morritz.
