Micheline Pelzer started her career in 1968 in Paris, where she was accompanying Barney Wilen. The following year, she is in Rome with ” Post Free Big-Band” of Steve Lacy.
Participation at the Festival de Liège in October 1969, where she is noticed by Miles Davis saxophone player of that time, Wayne Shorter.
In 1970, they record the album “Moto Grosso Feio”. During a stay in New-York, she often plays with David Liebman, Steve Grossman, Richie Beirach, Chick Corea, Woody Shaw, Etc…
Upon returning to Europe, she joins the group “MOSHI” of Barney WILEN during 2 years.

In 1973, with her father, saxophonist Jacques Pelzer and saxophonist Steve Houben and a young American pianist singer Ron Wilson, the OPEN SKY UNIT is founded and performs up to August 1994 with different formulas and styles.

In 1977 she settles in Paris with pianist Michel Graillier, her husband and regularly tours with Chet Baker (Zaire, New-York, Europe).
In Paris, she also performs with the big-band of Jacques Helian.

During a festival, in Switzerland, in 1982, she meets guitarist Marie-Ange Martin and HŽl?ne Labarriere, double bass player, and they found the group “Ladie’s first” which during three years will appear in festivals around Europe and will be a fixed feature of the Parisian clubs scene, seen in Vienna with Dee Dee Bridgewater, festivals in Paris, Turin, etc… .

Since 1993, she appears in duo with saxophonist Nelly Pouget. And with her husband, Michel Graillier, she is also member of singer Julie Monley Quartet.
