But Claudine Simon throws in her own spices: rock, samba (for a giddy “Bal a l’Ambassade”), bossa, reggae and jazz as a plural. Melody keeps an upper hand, with a very particular ear for arrangement: personal, non-conformist and with swing. All this comes together in a very attaching whole thanks to the contributions of Belgium’s finest performers.
