Jean-Marc Robin is a classically-trained percussionist that earned a gold medal in percussion and chamber music at the Nancy conservatory in 1992. He then moved towards jazz, perfecting his skills in jazz drumming at the ENM in Cergy-Pontoise in the class of Georges Paczinsky (unanimously awarded a Gold medal in 1996). He earned the state diploma for music teaching in 2010.

Robin had the opportunity to play with the Orchestre Nationale de Lorraine,Marcel AZOLLA, Lalo SCHIFRIN, Dorado SCHMITT, Samson SCHMITT, Sylvain GONTARD, Laurent VERNEREZ, Andréas OEBERG, Nico MORELLI , Gildas BOCLE, Benoit SAUVE, Stéphane GUILLAUME, Claude Egéa, Benoit VANDERSTRATEN, Tony LAKATOS, Sylvain BEUF, Eric Barret, Nicolas FOLMER, Jean-Marie ECAY, Remy CHAUDAGNE, Steckar Tuba Pack, Pierre-Alain GOUALCH, Diego IMBERT, Bob MINTZER , J-Yves JUNG, Jacques VIDAL, David PREZ, Jérome BARDE, le Big Band Régional de Lorraine SO2,Derrick JAMES… He is a music teacher at institutions in Metz and Epinal. He is also active in the Music Academy International and Jazz Academy International (school of contemporary music in Nancy).
