The musical side of it is the result of a confrontation of two divergent yet complementary worlds: the airy, contemplative and lyrical character of polyphonic vocals and the earthy, obsessive rituals of percussion. The instrumental baggage of Babel was a challenge in itself: four voices from the vocal quartet Vertigo (Jean-Luc Fafchamps, Martine Kivits, Pascale Vyvère and Patrick Waleffe) and four solo percussionists (Les Petites Frappes) bolstered by the massive sound of 16 steel drums of the group Diogène.
