The music of “H” strives to be absolutely european, much on the esthetic level (influences from folk and medieval music, from the renaissance or even contemporary music), as for its form and structure (the complexity and the themes developed). Nevertheless, there are still obvious links with jazz, like choosing for improvisation, be it collective or individual. The soloists do not improvise on “harmonic grids” anymore, but use melodic and rythmic material that springs from the compositions as support for their improvisations.
