
“Les paysages de carton” (cardboard landscapes) first sprang from an advertising order for a car fair. Four dancers made mischievous one-minute appearances like a living cuckoo clock. This led to the structure of the first movement, made up of short pieces.

The 3 other movements – “Simplement”, “Sacrepuscule” and “Conclusion” – complete this first quartet with a quasi-classical feel. They teem with citations, references to our musical course which should be listened to with a half-smile without taking them too seriously.
The second quartet,”Cantilène” and “Péripathétique Fonque”, consists of two genre pieces – a lyrical adagio and a rhythmic piece inspired by rock “à la Chick Corea” coloured by Profokiev. Ivan Georgiev is a composer from Brussels moulded by the Tuxedo Moon vision of rock. We have collaborated with him for several film scores and like his style, which is why we ordered.”Trois Paragraphes Suspendus”, a first work of pure chamber music that does not have the”functional” support of a film. Ivan handled the musical direction of the recording.
