Four years after the release of the album « Les tourments du ciel » on Igloo Records’ chanson imprint, Sacha Toorop is back with a new single that resonates particularly in this time of crisis. With « Le Futur est plus proche » (the future is closer), the singer lets himself go and offers his visions of the future (“…six hundred million vehicles in geo navigation… firestorms, asteroids or raging hurricanes…”) against a background of electric guitars and synth pads reminiscent of the melodies and psychedelia of the 70s.

« Le futur est plus proche » was born during confinement. Sacha wrote the title a few years back, but the context of the crisis led him to take the texts out of his music drawer and entrust the production and arrangements to Guillaume Vierset (Harvest Group, Typh Barrow, Sharko) with whom he has collaborated since the “Les tourments du ciel ” tour. For two months, struck by their condition as confined musicians, locked in their studios, they wrote, played and worked on the track, a departure from their respective usual musical registers.
The result is an explosive mix: the new single is a progressive rock ballad that explores sounds in search of rich harmonies to back up Sacha’s texts (mainly in French), who since the creation of Zop Hopop has retained a singular style that belongs only to him.
